The Precious Gifts from Heaven!
I am about to tell you a true story. It is worth your while to meet special needs kids once in your lifetime to realize what real happiness is. Let me explain.
It was a afternoon, I and my colleagues together with our director Peng and laoshi Pang visited them in Cangzhou City teshujiaoyu xuexiao (滄州市特殊教育學(xué)校). When I entered the school what I saw I could not believe. Nor will you. Because what I saw is bunch of happy faces that are special in every way. People call them differently abled. But I like to call them special needs kids. Because they really are special.
But what do we mean when we say “kids with special needs”? This refers to any kid who might be in the need of extra help due to some medical, emotional, physical or a learning problem. For them life can be extra challenging. It might be very difficult to do everyday stuff. But there is this good news! The parents, Doctors, Nurses, Therapists and Teachers are always be their strength. They work hard to help kids to be as independent as possible. The service they do for these innocent kids is priceless and should be highly appreciated.
Being friendly to kids with special needs is one of the best ways to be helpful. So I am glad that I volunteered to visit them. We could not give them lot of things. But even the little things that we gave made them extraordinary happy. You should have seen their happy faces. Though they couldn’t express verbally there bright faces say it all.
We not only give them little snack gifts but also organized few entertaining games as well. We played basketball, balloon dancing, spoon race, creations with clay, origami arts friendship bands and so on. As you get to know them, they may help you understand what it is like to be in their shoes! They communicated with us as far as they could. Finally when it was time for us to leave we couldn’t let go of those beautiful kids with innocent hearts.
So finally I am very thankful for my university teachers and the director of the hospital who gave us this valuable opportunity to visit them. We not only collected good deeds but also life time of memories that would never go off.
Working in the hospital opens us into unlimited number of opportunities to see the world and help the needy. So I am forever thankful for the chances I get from my university and the hospital for the time being in China as a Medical student. I think we get to practise the good behavioural character of a doctor by joining hands with events like these. It helps us to be good kind hearted doctors to serve the innocent souls of this earth.
